GET SLEEK AND STRAIGHT FOR SUMMER !

GET SLEEK AND STRAIGHT FOR SUMMER !

  1. For best results begin with clean, dry hair in your natural texture. Separate your hair to begin working on the bottom section. I typically separate my hair into thirds but depending on how thick your hair is you may want to do more or fewer sections.
  2. For each section, apply a heat protectant and brush out any knots. I used TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray.
  3. Straighten your hair in 1-2 inch sections depending on the thickness of your hair.
  4. Continue straightening in this way until you get to the top section of your head. I am using a CHI 1″ flat iron.
  5. Once the bottom two sections are complete tie them into a loose, low pony. That way you won’t get it confused with the hair that has already been straightened. Then, take the top section out of the clip and decide on your part. I will be doing a center part.
  6. Apply a smoothing serum to eliminate frizz. I used BioSilk Silk Therapy.
  7. Apply a light misting of hairspray to keep it pin straight all day and tame fly-aways. I used TRESemme Tres Two Spray in Extra Hold.
  8. Brush out your hair one last time and you are finished!

The Loose and Messy BEACH - READY FISHTAIL !

The Loose and Messy BEACH - READY FISHTAIL !

  1. The first step to getting the perfect messy, “beachy” texture is to apply a texturing spray infused with sea salt. This is going to imitate the same texture you would get after spending a day at the ocean. I used Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturing Sea Salt Spray.
  2. Run your fingers through your hair to distribute the product. You can also use a brush to comb it through, depending on how messy you want the braid to look.
  3. Begin braiding a basic fishtail braid. If you don’t know how to fishtail, check out Elizabeth’s tutorial.
  4. Once you have braided as far as you can, tie with a clear elastic and start gently pulling at the sides of the braid. This will make the look more un-done and messy as well as make your braid appear thicker.
  5. Take the majority of the top layers that have fallen out of the braid and pin them up into a bouffant. (Keep a few strands down so it doesn’t look too neat).
  6. Apply a light misting of hairspray to keep it perfectly messy all day long.

How To : Glam Hollywood Hair

How To : Glam Hollywood Hair

  1. Begin with dry hair in its natural state. I don’t apply any product before putting in my rollers, but you could apply a curl-enhancing mousse if you like.
  2. Before wrapping each section into a curler, run your curling iron through and do a quick curl just to heat up the section of hair. I also like to separate and pin each section that I am going to putting a curler in just so I don’t get confused when I am trying to curl and roll sections.
  3. While the hair is still hot, start from the roots and brush your curler through the hair. Once it reaches the end, begin wrapping your hair around it. Then, hold in place with a bobby pin (or two) and continue this process with each section.
  4. After rolling each section, I also like to spritz on a bit of hair spray just to make sure it keeps its hold. I use TRESemme Tres Two Spray.
  5. For the six sections surrounding my face, I like to use smaller rollers so that the curls are really defined and frame my face well.
  6. Once you have all of your rollers in place, give one last final spritz of hair spray and then let them set for about an hour (you can take them out sooner, but to play it safe I went with an hour).
  7. After the hour is up you can begin taking the rollers out, beginning with the first one you put in and ending with the last. After they are all out, apply a shine serum to get rid of any frizz that the Velcro may have created. I used Garnier Fructis Brilliantine Shine Glistening Drops. Then, shake out the curls and do another quick spritz of hair spray.

CRIMP CRAZE IN 4 EASY STEPS !

CRIMP CRAZE IN 4 EASY STEPS !

  1. Start with dry hair in its natural texture. I also applied a curl-enhancing mousse while my hair was damp to help with creating the waves. I used Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse.
  2. Divide your hair into 6 sections. Make them as equal as you can so that the crimps are consistent with one another. You are also going to apply your heat protectant at this point. I used TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray. After you brush through each section, begin braiding them and tie off the ends with a hair elastic (try not to use rubber so that you don’t need to worry about the hair straightener burning them into your hair).
  3. Run your hair straightener over each section. I held mine on each section of each braid for about 10 seconds and then ran them through a second time to make sure that the wave would hold.
  4. Let your hair completely cool off and then undo each of your braids. Spritz with a little hair spray (I used TRESemme Tres Two Spray) and voila! Perfect, crimped waves hair in under 30 minutes!

CURLS WITH A STRAIGHTENER

CURLS WITH A STRAIGHTENER

Step 1. Begin with a one-inch section of hair. Smaller sections are easier to work with when curling with a flat iron so I suggest taking one inch at a time even if you have a larger iron.
Step 2. Twist the iron underneath the hair, making sure not to lose the tail. If your not careful, the tail can get caught in between the iron and the rest of your hair and begin pulling. This also causes frizz, so be careful to be as neat as possible during this step!
Steps 3 + 4. Once the hair is wrapped around, it should look like this. Begin pulling downward in a steady, smooth motion for an even curl. The longer you take on this step, the tighter the curl. I wanted voluminous waves so I ran through my sections fairly quick.
Step 5. Continue curling until your entire head is complete. Once done, shake your hair out with your fingers and apply an anti-frizz serum to tame any flyaways. Spritz with a bit of hairspray.

PADDLE BRUSHED WAVES

PADDLE BRUSHED WAVES

  1. Start off with clean, dry hair and a curling iron. The barrel size you will want will depend on your hair length. I used a Conair 1-inch.
  2. Section off your hair and begin curling in one inch sections.
  3. All of your hair should be curled now. This is a cute look on its own, but I wanted to go for something a little more romantic and soft.
  4. Take a paddle brush and begin to brush out the curls into waves.
  5. Add a serum to give the waves a little more definition and shine. I used Garnier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Glistening Drops (Strong Hold).
  6. Add a touch of hairspray to lock everything in.
  7. Shake the curls out a bit.

DO THE BOUFFANT | Poof Up The Volume

DO THE BOUFFANT | Poof Up The Volume

  1. Begin with the texture and part that you will want your hair in. I straightened mine, but this would also look great wavy, curled, etc!
  2. Section off your hair on one side following the line where your ear is.
  3. Pull the section behind your ear and secure with a bobby pin.
  4. Section off the hair right behind where the section you just pinned ends and begin teasing it with a boar bristle brush. How much you tease just depends on your style!Add a little volume or create glam drama.
  5. Use the boar bristle brush to gently smooth over where you teased. Be careful not to press to hard and flatten the teasing!
  6. Take another section on the other side of your head, following the line where your ear is.
  7. Pull the section behind your ear and secure with a bobby pin. (Just like the other side!)
  8. Push the bump up with your hand and gently spray with your favorite hairspray to make sure it won’t go flat throughout the day!
  9. Smooth any flyways.

The Looped Twist Pony

The Looped Twist Pony

  1. Begin with your hair in it’s natural texture. This hairstyle works best if you begin with a middle part, but you could do a side part as well.
  2. Pull all of your hair into a side ponytail.
  3. Section the hair above the ponytail into two parts.
  4. Pull the ponytail backwards through the hole you just made.
  5. Gently tighten the ponytail to make sure it’s secure
  6. Gently pull the hair above the ponytail to loosen it up a little.
  7. Wrap another ponytail around the hair about 2 inches below the one above it(depending on how thick your hair is), and make another hole for the hair to go through.
  8. Pull the hair through and gently pull just like you did before.
  9. Continue doing this until you reach the end,

NO - HEAT WAVES !

NO - HEAT WAVES !

Step 1: Begin with dry hair parted and combed the way you want it for the hairstyle.
Step 2: Split your hair in 2 halves and begin by taking out a 1 inch section and clipping away the rest of the hair.
Step 3: Spray a generous amount of water onto your hand using a spray bottle.
Step 4: Run your hand over your hair a few times until the section is damp, but not too wet.
Step 5: We will be using two of our fingers to act as our curling barrel. For tighter curls, use only one finger.
Steps 6-9: Wrap the damp section of your hair loosely around your fingers.
Step 10: I will be using a combination of hair clips and bobby pins to pin my curls in place.
Step 11: Gently pull the curl off of your fingers, holding its shape, and place a pin inside of it to hold it in place.
Step 12: Continue with this same method in 1 inch sections on the rest of this half of hair, and spray on a generous amount of hairspray.
Step 13: Use the same method on the other half of your hair and spray with hairspray. Let the curls set for 30-45 minutes or until dry.
Step 14: Gently undo each of the hair clips/bobby pins and let the curls fall. Shake them out a bit, apply a few more sprays of hairspray.

Perfect the Blowout

Perfect the Blowout

  1. Begin with your hair washed and still wet (or damp). I also applied a heat protectant to protect my hair from any damage the blow dryer may cause. The one I used wasTRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray.
  2. Begin sectioning off 2-3 inch sections (depending on what size hair rollers you’re using and the length and thickness of your hair).
  3. Take out one section and begin blow drying with a boar bristle brush to help dry all the hair.
  4. Wrap your hair around a hair roller and secure it with a bobby pin.
  5. Continue doing this to each section until each section is complete.
  6. Spray with hair spray (I used TRESemme Tres Two Spray). I like to let my rollers set for about 10-15 minutes before I take them out.
  7. Gently unclip and unwrap one section at a time until all of the sections are out.
  8. Apply a small amount of shine serum to get rid of any frizziness the rollers may have caused. I used Garnier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Glistening Drops.
  9. Shake out your hair
