Flirty in floral

Blogger:  Blue Eye Finch

I'm just going to start off by saying how obsessed I am with this floral dress from Swell. I was so excited to have a beach day & wear this because it literally just screams the beach & Summer. The floral print, the bell sleeves & the open back (sorry I don't have a good photo of that! Check it out here, you'll fall in love) make this dress my new favorite. I wore this to the beach in San Diego last week & will be wearing it again very soon! Hope you guys are having a great week so far! :) ..See more fashion, beauty and style visit Blue Eye Finch

I love this dress. It is the perfect amount of casual & chic. I wore it to an event & a birthday party & I will wear it many more times. We all have heard of the LBD (Little Black Dress) but I've now moved on from that & this is my new replacement :) Dress it up or dress it down, you'll feel like a million bucks! Hope you all are having a great week. Stay tuned for a fun video tomorrow!

Blue jeans

I love when I find jeans that fit perfectly, are comfortable & best of all, they are incredibly affordable! I was recently introduced to Maurice's & I can't wait to try a couple more pairs. For $29, you honestly can't go wrong with these. They have the perfect stretch without stretching out & are beyond comfy. You guys know I love a good steal & these jeans are no exception! I'm so excited that it's getting close to being Fall. As much as I love Summer, I can't wait for cooler weather & layers! I wore this outfit for a casual night out & loved mixing the plaid & leather with more feminine heels. Hope you all had a fab weekend!!

My love for florals continues.. No surprise there! :) I love comfy & cute dresses that I can just throw on & head out the door. I also love that I can add a jacket or tights & transition this dress for colder weather. I posted a photo in this dress last week & a lot of you were asking where it's from. I have searched for it online but can't seem to find it.. But I just bought it in store at H&M so check there!! I found some similar ones below for you guys as well though. Hope you guys had a safe & fun Labor Day!

Denim Love

One of the items I enjoy wearing the most is denim jeans. They’re the one piece of clothing that I get a kick out of when I score the ‘right’ pair. I mean, let’s face it… finding the perfect pair of skinny, boyfriend, or distressed jeans can be a difficult task. They’re so many details you have to look out for like fit, wash, detail, style, fabric, length, and comfort that it feels overwhelming when you’re in that tiny fitting room.

For me, it’s all about the fit and wash. I don’t buy jeans just to buy, I take my time until i find the right one(s). It usually does take me awhile before I find a good pair but I’ve learned to be patient and hunt down certain key stores, which is always the fun part.

5 Steps to Dewy Skin

5 Steps to Dewy Skin

Blooger:  marieclaire

Step 1. Apply SPF and moisturize. Apply a rich daytime moisturizer with SPF all over the face and press into the skin with hands.
Step 2. Conceal dark circles. Use a concealer under the eyes to brighten and spot cover over any redness on the skin.
Step 3. Add a touch of color. Apply bronzer and cream blush to the face and cheek
Step 4. Re-moisturize with a balm or multi-purpose cream. Dab a clear, extra-moisturizing cream or skin protector, like Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Cream ($19.50; elizabetharden.com), to the top of the cheekbone, above your top lip, to the area directly above the bball of your chin, to the bridge of your nose avoiding the tip,and to your temples by tapping with your finger.
Step 5. Apply powder so you're not shiny all over. Apply a translucent powder in the areas that you don't want shiny: The center of the forehead, under the eyes, down the sides of the nose and towards the cheeks, the tip of the nose, around the nostrils, and under the cheek bones.

How to contour: The basics

Blogger:   beautylish

Knowing how to contour is an important skill as all makeup applications involve contouring on some level. But to many, the thought of doing it at home seems inaccessible and a little too tricky. But it's easier than you think! “Basically, all makeup is contouring,” says Los Angeles-based makeup artist Brande Bytheway. “When you contour, all you’re doing is accentuating your natural features.” To get the technique down, we had Brande walk us through the how-to's and tools to create a basic look using contouring.

This approach will look different on every person, depending on the shape of the features. Brande’s one piece of advice: practice, practice, practice. Try it, play around, and discover what works on your face. “It’s not as complicated as it seems,” Brande swears. “Some people do it every day!”

When you learn how to contour there are two main techniques: lowlighting and highlighting. Lowlighting refers to using a darker color wherever there’s an area of the face or feature you want to recede or de-emphasize. Brande recommends a hue about three shades darker than your own skin—and making sure your product is matte, never frosted or shimmery. The opposite of lowlighting is highlighting—this you do on areas you want to emphasize or bring forward. For highlight, you can use either matte or frosted/shimmery color, whichever you prefer.

Here’s how to do a basic contour on the cheeks, nose, eyes, and jaw. For this tutorial, we used powder eye shadows from Inglot. Make Up For Ever’s sculpting kits also get Brande’s thumbs-up; check out this quick guide to contour kits at every price for more ideas, too. read more from this link

Sugar Love Boutique Romper / Isabel Marant sandals

The colors in this print are so vibrant, I love them. The shades of blue and moroccan pattern are inviting, but still subtle in a way. Ever since I've had this romper, I've worn it several times, because it's easy to. I wore it once to brunch with high heels, and another time to an outdoors dinner with these sandals and bag.

Sugar Love Boutique Dress / Balenciaga Bag / Isabel Marant / Celine Sunglasses / Stila "color balm"

I think lace is really pretty, but I don't own much of it, because it became so trendy after Kate Middleton wore that stunning Alexander McQueen wedding gown, that I felt it was over-worn. However, when I saw this delicate pattern, I thought it was perfect.
I love having a variety of casual dresses I can throw on and go.  My dad got me this necklace on one of his trips overseas to Dubai, and I love how unique it is. For years, he worked overseas and we only got to see him a few days a month, and although we wouldn't trade having him home for anything, it was always fun to receive gifts from around the world. Chocolates from Belgium, pastries from France, scarfs from India, candy from China; it felt like I was getting a small part of his experiences from these unfamiliar places of the world.

Saturday Adventures

I dug out these old, ratty pink shoes that I can't seem to let go of and headed out to the east side of the state with Alison. Our plan was to preview a bridal gown collection. Since a wedding of my own is of little to no interest to me, I like to live vicariously through shows like "Say Yes to the Dress" and watch the crazies debate over the length of a train on a $15,000 dress. I was hoping for that kind of fun seeing this collection, but it was a bit disappointing. So we made the most of our trip and headed to my favorite burger place, Vinsetta Garage and shopped in Birmingham, and then we called it a day!

Western Ave

I had a long holiday weekend without many plans (my favorite) and so I decided to spend one of those days visiting the fam in Muskegon. My mom and I hit up the beach, visited my brother and his family during his softball game and then we headed to dinner at Olive Garden, just a nice little day of sand and breadsticks. Per usual, I was overdressed for our festivities, but since it was lightweight and didn't stick to me, it was pretty much the best thing to wear to wander about town with mom.
